CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, of San Benito County serves children in the Dependency System of the Superior Court of San Benito County, commonly known as foster children in the foster care system. An average of 80+ children from the community each year are placed in the San Benito County foster care system because of parental abuse or neglect. These are children in crisis.

This is where CASA of San Benito County steps in. The CASA program recruits, trains and prepares volunteers to become advocates for foster children. The volunteer receives 33 hours of professional training before being sworn in as an Officer of the Court and assigned to a child’s case.

The CASA program in San Benito County was launched in late 2007 as a division of Voices for Children CASA Monterey. CASA of San Benito County became an independent program on July 1, 2013. The program is unique to San Benito County, there is no other volunteer organization like it in the area that provides this service to foster children.

CASA of San Benito County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Member of California CASA Association and National CASA/GAL Association for Children.
